TOBIAS ZIELONY /// MANITOBA         de | en
This fine little publication from Spector Books gives proof once again how a smart edit and a strong text can enhance the presentation of a photographic work.

The work of Tobias Zielony is quite well known already. ›He goes to that point where it hurts and has a powerful, enormously important topic which he has pursued for many years and in very different places worldwide. In the centre of his series are teenagers who stand on the fringe of society in two respects, as such and because of their origin.‹ That\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s what I wrote about his book ›Story / No Story‹ in which also the Manitoba series has already been introduced.

But here, with more images, interspersed photographs from the Manitoba Museum and an intense essay by Andrea Hiott, which describes her trip to Manitoba and her experiences and encounters on site, Zielony´s photo series from Winnipeg, Canada becomes an informative and very emotional journey into unknown territory.

An excellent book.
